Turkey, Nigeria Ink MoU for Media, Communication Cooperation

(MENAFN) Türkiye and Nigeria formalized a partnership in the field of media and communication on Tuesday by signing a memorandum of understanding. The signing took place in Ankara in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following bilateral and interdelegational talks.

The memorandum outlines plans for sharing information and expertise, exchanging best practices, supporting joint initiatives, and organizing seminars, workshops, training programs, and conferences. It also encourages increased reciprocal visits of officials and specialists in media, communication, and broadcasting. The agreement is set to remain in effect for three years.

In addition to the media pact, Türkiye and Nigeria strengthened their strategic partnership through a total of nine agreements signed during the meetings. These deals cover multiple areas, including military training, diaspora policy, higher education, halal accreditation, diplomatic training, and social and women’s affairs, marking a broad effort to deepen cooperation across key sectors.
